A novel circular fractal ring UWB monopole antenna with dual band‐notched characteristics

This paper presents a novel circular fractal ring monopole antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) hardware with dual band-notched properties. The proposed consists of four crescent-shaped nested rings, tapered feeding line at the front dielectric material, and semicircular ground plane on backside. In this design, rings are used both as radiation element band rejection element. has bandwidth 9.03 GHz, which works efficiently in range 2.63 GHz–11.66 GHz notched bands Worldwide Interoperability Microwave Access (WiMAX) 3.15 GHz–3.66 wireless local area network (WLAN) 4.9 GHz–5.9 respectively. compact size 20 mm × 30 1 (0.177 0.265 0.0084 λ0) is implemented using flame-retardant type 4 (FR4) material. It maximum gain approximately dB its operating range, experimental results support simulation predictions high accuracy. findings study imply that designed can be utilized UWB applications.
